DECISION No 1/2009 OF THE EC-EFTA JOINT COMMITTEE ON COMMON TRANSIT
of 31 July 2009
amending the Convention of 20 May 1987 on a common transit procedure
(2009/606/EC)
THE JOINT COMMITTEE,
Having regard to the Convention of 20 May 1987 on a common transit procedure (1) (the Convention), and in particular Article 15(3)(a) thereof,
Whereas:
|
(1) |
The Convention lays down specific measures, in particular as regards guarantees to be provided, in respect of goods which involve a higher risk of fraud in the course of a transit operation. Annex I to Appendix I to the Convention contains a list of such goods. |
|
(2) |
The regular review of the list in Annex I of Appendix I to the Convention, conducted under Article 1 of that Appendix on the basis of information collected from the Contracting Parties, has shown that certain goods which appear on that list are no longer considered to involve a higher risk of fraud. Other products, on the other hand, should be added to the list. It is therefore appropriate to adjust the list accordingly, |
HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS:
Article 1
Annex I of Appendix I to the Convention is replaced by the text set out in the Annex to this Decision.
Article 2
This Decision shall apply from 1 January 2009.
Done at Oslo, 31 July 2009.
For the Joint Committee
The President
Bjørn RØSE
