    (Text with EEA relevance)

    (C/2024/997)

    1.

On 5 January 2024, the Commission received notification of a proposed concentration pursuant to Article 4 of Council Regulation (EC) No 139/2004 (1).

This notification concerns the following undertakings:

CMA CGM S.A. (‘CMA CGM’, France), solely controlled by Merit (France),

Bolloré Logistics SE (‘Bolloré Logistics’, France), solely controlled by Bolloré SE (‘Bolloré’, France).

CMA CGM will acquire within the meaning of Article 3(1)(b) of the Merger Regulation sole control of the whole of Bolloré Logistics.

The concentration is accomplished by way of purchase of shares.

    2.

The business activities of the undertakings concerned are the following:

CMA CGM is the parent company of the CMA CGM Group, an international group of companies mainly active in the provision of container liner shipping, freight forwarding, contract logistics, port terminal, and air cargo services,

Bolloré Logistics provides air, sea, and land freight forwarding, as well as contract logistics services.

    3.

On preliminary examination, the Commission finds that the notified transaction could fall within the scope of the Merger Regulation. However, the final decision on this point is reserved.

    4.
