DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE
No 61/2018
of 23 March 2018
amending Annex II (Technical regulations, standards, testing and certification) to the EEA Agreement [2020/78]
THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,
Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (‘the EEA Agreement’), and in particular Article 98 thereof,
Whereas:

(1) |
Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2017/654 of 19 December 2016 supplementing Regulation (EU) 2016/1628 of the European Parliament and of the Council with regard to technical and general requirements relating to emission limits and type-approval for internal combustion engines for non-road mobile machinery (1) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement. |

(2) |
Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2017/655 of 19 December 2016 supplementing Regulation (EU) 2016/1628 of the European Parliament and of the Council with regard to monitoring of gaseous pollutant emissions from in-service internal combustion engines installed in non-road mobile machinery (2) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement. |

Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2017/656 of 19 December 2016 laying down the administrative requirements relating to emission limits and type-approval of internal combustion engines for non-road mobile machinery in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/1628 of the European Parliament and of the Council (3) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement. |

Annex II to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly, |
HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:
Article 1
The following points are inserted after point 1e (Regulation (EU) 2016/424 of the European Parliament and of the Council) of Chapter XXIV of Annex II to the EEA Agreement:

Article 2
The texts of Delegated Regulations (EU) 2017/654, (EU) 2017/655 and (EU) 2017/656 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, shall be authentic.
Article 3
This Decision shall enter into force on 24 March 2018, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made (*1), or on the day of the entry into force of the Decision of the EEA Joint Committee incorporating Regulation (EU) 2016/1628 of the European Parliament and of the Council into the EEA Agreement, whichever is the later.
Article 4
This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.
