A4-0342/97 Decision on the draft Council Decision with a view to accession by the European Community to the Agreement of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe concerning the adoption of uniform technical prescriptions for wheeled vehicles, equipment and parts which can be fitted to and/or be used on wheeled vehicles and the conditions for reciprocal recognition of approvals granted on the basis of these prescriptions ('Revised 1958 Agreement') (9868/97 - C4-0467/97- 96/0006(AVC)) (Assent procedure) The European Parliament, - having regard to the draft Council Decision 9868/97 - 96/0006(AVC), - having regard to the draft Agreement, - having regard to the Council's request for Parliament's assent pursuant to Article 228(3), second subparagraph, of the EC Treaty (C4-0467/97), - having regard to Rule 90(7) of its Rules of Procedure, - having regard to the recommendation of the Committee on External Economic Relations (A4-0342/97), 1. Gives its assent to accession by the European Community to the Revised 1958 Agreement; 2. Instructs its President to forward this Decision to the Council and Commission, and the governments and parliaments of the Member States.
