- Initiative summary:
- The fifteenth Conference of the Parties to the Basel Convention amended the Convention annexes II, III and VIII to bring all export and import of electrical and electronic waste under the controls of the Convention. The amendments will enter into force from 1 January 2025 and will apply to all Parties to the Convention, including the EU and its Member States. This act implements those changes into EU legislation, through the EU Waste Shipment Regulation (EC) 1013/2006
