Initiative summary:
The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) is responsible for the registration, supervision and recognition of trade repositories in the EU and is mandated to charge fees to cover all administrative costs incurred by ESMA in performing these activities. This initiative aims to harmonise and simplify technical aspects of ESMA’s fee system so that the determination of the fees to trade repositories and their collection is less complex and more homogeneous across sectors.
