Revision of the CO2 emission standards for cars and vans
Proposal for a REGULATION OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL amending Regulation (EU) 2019/631 as regards strengthening the CO2 emission performance standards for new passenger cars and new light commercial vehicles in line with the Union’s increased climate ambition
- Initiative summary:
- Road transport has a key role to play to reach the objectives of the European Green Deal. The legislation on CO2 emission performance standards for cars and vans is a key policy driver to reduce road transport emissions. Therefore, it will be revised, to ensure a clear pathway from 2025 onwards towards zero-emission mobility.
