Regulation (EU) 2015/1755 concerning restrictive measures in view of the situation in Burundi
The decision and the regulation are part of the European Union’s (EU) common foreign and security policy (CFSP) toolbox, promoting the CFSP objectives by providing the legal basis for EU sanctions in view of the situation in Burundi.
Decision (CFSP) 2015/1763 and Regulation (EU) 2015/1755 have been amended numerous times. They include restrictive measures targeting those responsible for undermining democracy or obstructing the search for a political solution in Burundi, or involved in planning, directing, or committing acts that violate international humanitarian or human rights law, or that constitute serious human rights abuses, in Burundi, along with their associates. These restrictive measures include:
A list of the persons subject to these restrictive measures is set out in annexes to the decision and regulation. The Council of the European Union decides on changes to that list.
