DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 199/2017
of 27 October 2017
amending Annex XIII (Transport) to the EEA Agreement [2019/1362]
THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,
Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (‘the EEA Agreement’), and in particular Article 98 thereof,
Whereas:

(1) |
Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2017/1412 of 1 August 2017 on the recognition of Fiji pursuant to Directive 2008/106/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards the systems for training and certification of seafarers (1) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement. |

(2) |
Council Directive 96/98/EC (2) was repealed by Directive 2014/90/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council (3), which are incorporated into the EEA Agreement, and consequently the reference to Council Directive 96/98/EC should be deleted from the EEA Agreement. |

(3) |
Annex XIII to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly, |
HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:
Article 1
Annex XIII to the EEA Agreement shall be amended as follows:

The following point is inserted after point 56ju (Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2017/727):

(2) |
The text of point 56d (Council Directive 96/98/EC) is deleted. |
Article 2
The text of Implementing Decision (EU) 2017/1412 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, shall be authentic.
Article 3
This Decision shall enter into force on 28 October 2017, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made (*1).
Article 4
This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.
