The European Parliament,

- having regard to the proposal for a Decision of the Council and the Commission, COM(95)0235 - 95/0132(AVC),

- having regard to the draft Euro-Mediterranean Agreement with the Republic of Tunisia,

- having regard to the Council's request for Parliament's assent pursuant to Article 228(3), second subparagraph, and Article 238 of the EC Treaty, 7761/95 - C4-0347/95,

- having regard to Rule 90(7) of its Rules of Procedure,

- having regard to the report of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Security and Defence Policy and the opinions of the Committee on Budgets, the Committee on Research, Technological Development and Energy, the Committee on External Economic Relations, the Committee on Culture, Youth, Education and the Media, and the Committee on Development and Cooperation (A4-0298/95),

1. Gives its assent to the conclusion of the agreement;

2. Instructs its President to forward this resolution to the Council, the Commission and the governments and parliaments of the Member States and of the Republic of Tunisia.
