E. NUCLEAR SAFETY AND RADIATION PROTECTION 31997 L 0043: Council Directive 97/43/Euratom of 30 June 1997 on health protection of individuals against the dangers of ionising radiation in relation to medical exposure, and repealing Directive 84/466/Euratom (OJ L 180, 9.7.1997, p. 22). By way of derogation from Articles 8 and 9(1) of Directive 97/43/Euratom, the provisions on radiological equipment and on special practices shall not apply in Latvia until 31 December 2005 . Such equipment shall not be placed on the market of other Member States. --------------------------------------------------
