COMMUNICATION FROM THE COMMISSION TO THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND THE COUNCIL

Adaptation of the ceiling of own resources and of the ceiling for appropriations for commitments following the entry into force the Council Decision 2014/335 on the system of own resources of the European Union

1.Article 3(3) of Council Decision 2014/335/EC, Euratom 1 stipulates that "as soon as all Member States have transmitted their data on the basis of ESA 2010, the Commission shall recalculate the ceilings set out in paragraphs 1 and 2 on the basis of the following formula:

1.23 % (1.29%) x

In that formula, 't' is the latest full year for which data for the calculation of GNI are available."

2.On the basis of the latest information provided by Eurostat (see also tables in the Annex) with the year 2015 as the last full year available, the new percentage ceilings will amount to:

Maximum own resources (in per cent of the total GNI of the Member States) =

1.23 % x =

= 1.23 % x = 1,19961608 % ⇒ 1.20 %

Maximum appropriations for commitments (in per cent of the total GNI of the Member States) =

1.29 % x =

= 1.29 % x = 1,25813393 % ⇒ 1.26 %

3.The new ceilings shall be valid from 1 January 2014 onwards.
