COUNCIL DECISION (CFSP) 2021/449
of 12 March 2021
repealing Decision 2011/172/CFSP concerning restrictive measures directed against certain persons, entities and bodies in view of the situation in Egypt
THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION,
Having regard to the Treaty on European Union, and in particular Article 29 thereof,
Having regard to the proposal of the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy,
Whereas:

On 21 March 2011, the Council adopted Decision 2011/172/CFSP (1) concerning restrictive measures directed against certain persons, entities and bodies in view of the situation in Egypt. |

(2) |
Decision 2011/172/CFSP provides for the freezing of funds and economic resources of certain persons having been identified as responsible for the misappropriation of Egyptian State funds, and of natural or legal persons, entities or bodies associated with them. |
|
(3) |
Following a review of Decision 2011/172/CFSP carried out pursuant to Article 5 thereof, the restrictive measures in place should be lifted. |
|
(4) |
Decision 2011/172/CFSP should therefore be repealed, |
HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:
Article 1
Decision 2011/172/CFSP is hereby repealed.
Article 2
This Decision shall enter into force on the day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
