Initiative summary:
Recent years have seen a dramatic increase in detected child sexual abuse cases globally. The fight against child sexual abuse and child sexual exploitation is a priority for the EU. Therefore, the Commission comes forward with an EU Strategy for a more effective fight against child sexual abuse. It announces objectives and initiatives, both legislative and non-legislative, to tackle these crimes in a comprehensive way, including through prevention, law enforcement and assistance to victims.
