zur Änderung der Verordnung (EG) Nr. 2368/2002 des Rates zur Umsetzung des Zertifikationssystems des Kimberley-Prozesses für den internationalen Handel mit Rohdiamanten

DIE KOMMISSION DER EUROPÄISCHEN GEMEINSCHAFTEN -

gestützt auf den Vertrag zur Gründung der Europäischen Gemeinschaft,

gestützt auf die Verordnung (EG) Nr. 2368/2002 des Rates vom 20. Dezember 2003 zur Umsetzung des Zertifikationssystems des Kimberley-Prozesses für den internationalen Handel mit Rohdiamanten(1), zuletzt geändert durch die Verordnung (EG) Nr. 1214/2003 der Kommission(2), insbesondere auf Artikel 20,

in Erwägung nachstehender Gründe:

(1) Mit Artikel 20 der Verordnung (EG) Nr. 2368/2002 wird die Liste der Teilnehmer am Zertifikationssystem des Kimberley-Prozesses unter Einschluss der WTO-Mitglieder und getrennten Zollgebiete, welche die Anforderungen des Systems erfuellen, geändert.

(2) Der Vorsitz des Kimberley-Prozesses hat in seinem Vermerk vom 31. Juli 2003 eine aktualisierte Liste der Teilnehmer an dem System vorgelegt. Die Aktualisierung der Liste, die am 1. September in Kraft treten soll, betrifft insbesondere die Hinzufügung von Kroatien als Teilnehmer und die Streichung von Algerien, Brasilien, Burkina Faso, Kamerun, Zypern, der Tschechischen Republik, Gabun, Ghana, der Demokratischen Volksrepublik Korea, Malaysia, Mali, Malta, Mexiko, Norwegen, den Philippinen, Swasiland, Togo, Tunesien, der Türkei und Vietnam von der Liste. Daher soll Anhang II entsprechend geändert werden -

BESCHLIESST:

Artikel 1

Anhang II der Verordnung (EG) Nr. 2368/2002 wird hiermit durch den Anhang der vorliegenden Verordnung ersetzt.

Artikel 2

Diese Verordnung tritt am 1. September 2003 in Kraft.

Diese Verordnung ist in allen ihren Teilen verbindlich und gilt unmittelbar in jedem Mitgliedstaat.
