Verordnung (EG) Nr. 418/2003 der Kommission vom 6. März 2003 zur Änderung der Verordnung des Rates (EG) Nr. 2368/2002 zur Umsetzung des Zertifikationssystems des Kimberley-Prozesses für den internationalen Handel mit Rohdiamanten und zur Berichtigung der Verordnung der Kommission (EG) Nr. 257/2003 DIE KOMMISSION DER EUROPÄISCHEN GEMEINSCHAFTEN - gestützt auf den Vertrag zur Gründung der Europäischen Gemeinschaft, gestützt auf die Verordnung des Rates (EG) Nr. 2368/2002 vom 20. Dezember 2002 zur Umsetzung des Zertifikationssystems des Kimberley-Prozesses für den internationalen Handel mit Rohdiamanten(1), zuletzt geändert durch die Verordnung (EG) Nr. 257/2003(2), insbesondere auf Artikel 19 Absätze 3 und 6 sowie Artikel 20, in Erwägung nachstehender Gründe: (1) Mit Artikel 20 der Verordnung (EG) Nr. 2368/2002, geändert durch die Verordnung des Rates (EG) Nr. 254/2003(3), wird die Liste der Teilnehmer am Zertifikationssystem des Kimberley-Prozesses unter Einschluss der WTO-Mitglieder und getrennten Zollgebiete, welche die Anforderungen des Systems erfuellen, geändert. (2) Der Vorsitz des Kimberley-Prozesses und die Teilnehmer an diesem Prozess haben der Kommission die betreffenden Informationen zu den Teilnehmern, darunter Algerien, Brasilien, Zypern, die Tschechische Republik, die Republik Kongo, Ungarn, die Demokratische Volksrepublik Korea, Malaysia, Norwegen, Venezuela und die getrennten Zollgebiete Taiwan, Penghu Kinmen und Matsu, sowie zusätzliche Informationen im Hinblick auf andere Teilnehmer übermittelt. Die zusätzlichen Informationen betreffen China, Hongkong, Ghana, Guinea, Japan, Laos, Mauritius, Sierra Leone, Thailand, Togo, die Ukraine, die Vereinigten Arabischen Emirate und Vietnam. Daher soll Anhang II entsprechend geändert werden. (3) Mit Artikel 2 der Verordnung der Kommission (EG) Nr. 257/2003 sollte lediglich die Anwendung von Artikel 1 Absatz 1 auf einen verlängerbaren Dreimonatszeitraum beschränkt werden. Daher ist eine entsprechende Berichtigung von Artikel 2 dieser Verordnung nötig. (4) Die Maßnahmen gemäß Artikel 2 der Verordnung stehen mit der Stellungnahme des in der Verordnung (EG) Nr. 2368/2002 Artikel 22 genannten Ausschusses in Einklang - BESCHLIESST: Artikel 1 Anhang II der Verordnung (EG) Nr. 2368/2002 wird hiermit durch den Anhang der vorliegenden Verordnung ersetzt. Artikel 2 Artikel 2 Satz 2 der Verordnung (EG) Nr. 257/2003 wird wie folgt berichtigt:"Artikel 1 Absatz 1 der Verordnung gilt für einen Zeitraum von drei Monaten ab diesem Tag." Artikel 3 Diese Verordnung tritt am Tag nach ihrer Veröffentlichung im Amtsblatt der Europäischen Union in Kraft. Diese Verordnung gilt bis zum 12. Mai 2003.
