Initiative summary:
The initiative will address supply chain vulnerabilities of critical medicines and reduce Europe’s dependencies to strengthen the supply of critical medicines. It will aim to improve availability of other medicines of common interest. The proposal will complement the reform of the EU pharmaceutical legislation and will build on the work of the Executive Steering Group on Shortages of Medicines, Structured Dialogue on security of medicines supply, Critical Medicines Alliance, and a supporting study.
