- Initiative summary:
- The Commission presented its Renovation Wave communication on 14/10/2020, containing an action plan with concrete regulatory, financing and enabling measures and with the aim to at least double the annual energy renovation rate of buildings by 2030. The existing legislation will not suffice to achieve that goal; therefore, a targeted revision of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive is necessary. This revision will focus on provisions that are central to delivering a Renovation Wave.
