List of quality wines produced in specified regions (Published pursuant to Article 1 (3) of Regulation (EEC) No 823/87) (1999/C 46/07) (This list cancels and replaces the list published in Official Journal of the European Communities C 344 of 15 November 1996, page 110.) >TABLE> >TABLE> >TABLE> >TABLE> >TABLE> LUXEMBOURG 1. Luxembourg quality wines psr are produced in the Luxembourg Moselle regions located within the wine-growing area in which vines may be planted and replanted: (a) in the following areas: Schengen, Remerschen, Wintringen, Mondorf, Elvange, Ellingen, Bumerange, Schwebsingen, Bech-Kleinmacher, Wellenstein, Remich, Bous, Assel, Trintingen, Rolling, Erpeldingen, Stadtbredimus, Greiveldingen, Ehnen, Wormeldingen, Oberwormelding, Ahn, Machtum, Lenningen, Canach, Gostingen, Niederdonven, Oberdonven, Grevenmacher, Mertert, Wasserbillig, Rosport, Born, Moersdorf; (b) from the following varieties: Riesling, Traminer, Pinot gris (Ruländer), Pinot blanc, Pinot noir, Auxerrois, Muscat Ottonel, Rivaner (Müller-Thurgau), Sylvaner, Elbling, Chardonnay, Gamay. 2. Luxembourg quality wines psr must bear the national quality label and the indication Moselle Luxembourgeoise - Appellation contrôlée. 3. Relevant legal provisions: (a) Grand-Ducal Regulation of 14 July 1971 on the implementation of Regulation (EEC) No 817/70 laying down special provisions relating to quality wines produced in specified regions (quality wines psr) (Mémorial A No 46 of 19 July 1971). (b) Regulation of the Government in Council of 15 October 1971 on the creation of a national wine trademark and laying down the conditions for its award (Mémorial A No 14 of 15 March 1985). (c) Grand-Ducal Regulation of 18 February 1975 amending and supplementing the Grand-Ducal Regulation of 14 July 1971 on the implementation of Regulation (EEC) No 817/70 laying down special provisions relating to quality wines produced in specified regions (Mémorial A No 8 of 27 February 1975). (d) Regulation of the Government in Council of 18 March 1988 creating a national trademark for sparkling wines (Mémorial A No 16 of 15 April 1988). (e) Regulation of the Government in Council of 4 January 1991 on the designation 'Crémant de Luxembourg` (Mémorial A No 4 of 31 January 1991). (f) Law of 9 April 1982 establishing a wine-growing area in which vines may be planted and replanted (Mémorial A No 28 of 16 April 1982). AUSTRIA Essentially, the production and marketing of Austrian quality wines psr are governed by Articles 29 and 30 of the Austrian wine law (federal law of 24 October 1995 on trade in wine and fruit wine). In accordance with those provisions and the relevant Community provisions, Austrian quality wines psr may, instead of the Community indication 'quality wine psr`, bear the following traditional names together with an indication of the origin of the wine: - 'Qualitätswein` or 'Qualitätswein mit staatlicher Prüfnummer` (where applicable with the additional indication 'Kabinett`), or - 'Qualitätswein besonderer Reife und Leseart` or 'Prädikatswein` together with one of the following indications: - 'Spätlese` or 'Spätlesewein`, - 'Auslese` or 'Auslesewein`, - 'Beerenauslese` or 'Beerenauslesewein`, - 'Ausbruch` or 'Ausbruchwein`, - 'Trockenbeerenauslese`, - 'Eiswein`, - 'Strohwein`. In addition, Austrian quality wines psr must bear an official approval number. The denomination of origin must contain the following information: - reference to the Austrian origin: for example 'Österreich`, 'Wein aus Österreich`, 'Österr. Wein`, 'Österr. Qualitätswein`, etc., - the name of the specified region: - Neusiedlersee, - Neusiedlersee-Hügelland, - Mittelburgenland, - Südburgenland, - Thermenregion, - Kremstal, - Traisental, - Kamptal, - Donauland, - Carnuntum, - Wachau, - Weinviertel, - Südsteiermark, - Weststeiermark, - Süd-Oststeiermark, - Wien. In addition, the designation of origin may contain the name of a 'Grosslage`, a commune, a part of a commune, a vineyard or a parcel. A list of these names may be obtained by writing to the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Stubering, 12, A-1010 Vienna. >TABLE> >TABLE> (1) Designation of origin.
