In accordance with Article 13 of Regulation (EU) 2016/426 of the European Parliament and of the Council (2), appliances and fittings which are in conformity with harmonised standards or parts thereof, the references of which have been published in the Official Journal of the European Union, are to be presumed to be in conformity with the essential requirements covered by those standards or parts thereof set out in that Regulation.

By Commission Implementing Decision C(2023)4789 (3), the Commission made a request to the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) and to the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (Cenelec) for the revision of existing harmonised standards drafted on the basis of standardisation mandate M/BC/CEN/06-89 of 29 April 1990 to ensure that they continue to reflect the generally acknowledged state of the art in order to meet the essential health and safety requirements set out in Annex I to Regulation (EU) 2016/426.

On the basis of the request set out in Implementing Decision C(2023)4789, CEN revised the following harmonised standards, the references of which are published in the Official Journal of the European Union by Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2024/224 (4): EN 30-1-1:2021, EN 30-1-2:2023, EN 88-1:2022, EN 203-1:2021, EN 203-2-1:2021, EN 203-2-2:2021, EN 203-2-4:2021, EN 257:2022, EN 549:2019+A1:2023, EN 751-3:2022, EN 1106:2022, EN 1854:2022, EN 15502-1:2021, EN 15502-2-1:2022 and EN 16898:2022. As a result, CEN adopted the following revised harmonised standards, respectively: EN 30-1-1:2021+A1:2023, EN 30-1-2:2023+A1:2024, EN 88-1:2022+A1:2023, EN 203-1:2021+A1:2023, EN 203-2-1:2021+A1:2023, EN 203-2-2:2021+A1:2023, EN 203-2-4:2021+A1:2023, EN 257:2022+A1:2023, EN 549:2019+A2:2024, EN 751-3:2022+A1:2023, EN 1106:2022+A1:2023, EN 1854:2022+A1:2023, EN 15502-1:2021+A1:2023, EN 15502-2-1:2022+A1:2023 and EN 16898:2022+A1:2023.

The Commission, together with CEN, has assessed whether the harmonised standards revised by CEN comply with the request set out in Implementing Decision C(2023)4789.

The reference of harmonised standard EN 30-1-1:2021 on the general safety for domestic cooking appliances burning gas was published by Implementing Decision (EU) 2024/224 with restrictions. Harmonised standard EN 30-1-1:2021+A1:2023 does not address those restrictions.

The harmonised standards revised by CEN on the basis of the request set out in Implementing Decision C(2023)4789, except for harmonised standard EN 30-1-1:2021+A1:2023, satisfy the requirements which they aim to cover and which are set out in Annex I to Regulation (EU) 2016/426. It is therefore appropriate to publish the references of those standards in the Official Journal of the European Union.

Harmonised standard EN 30-1-1:2021+A1:2023 satisfies the requirements which it aims to cover and which are set out in Annex I to Regulation (EU) 2016/426, except for the requirements set out in points 3.2.4 and 3.4.4 of Annex I to Regulation (EU) 2016/426. It is therefore appropriate to publish the reference of that standard in the Official Journal of the European Union with restrictions.

In the interests of clarity, rationality and simplification, a complete list of references of harmonised standards drafted in support of Regulation (EU) 2016/426 and satisfying the requirements they aim to cover should be published in a single act. The references of harmonised standards drafted in support of Regulation (EU) 2016/426 are currently published by Implementing Decision (EU) 2024/224. Consequently, it is necessary to replace Implementing Decision (EU) 2024/224 by a new decision.

Compliance with a harmonised standard confers a presumption of conformity with the corresponding essential requirements set out in Union harmonisation legislation from the date of publication of the reference of such standard in the Official Journal of the European Union. This Decision should therefore enter into force on the date of its publication,
