on minimum requirements concerning the data of hired vehicles to be entered in national electronic registers of road transport undertakings

THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION,
Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union,
Having regard to Directive 2006/1/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 January 2006 on the use of vehicles hired without drivers for the carriage of goods by road (1), and in particular Article 3a(8) thereof,
After consulting the Committee established by Article 5b(1) of Directive 2006/1/EC,
Whereas:

Pursuant to Article 3a(1) of Directive 2006/1/EC, data relating to vehicles hired without a driver that are used by undertakings which engage in the carriage of goods by road for hire or reward are to be included in the national electronic register referred to in Article 16 of Regulation (EC) No 1071/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council (2) (‘the national electronic registers’). |

Under Article 3a(3) of Directive 2006/1/EC, Member States are to use the European Register of Road Undertakings (ERRU) to exchange information on vehicles hired without drivers. For that information to be exchanged smoothly, minimum requirements on the data to be introduced in the national electronic register are to be established. |

Commission Decision 2009/992/EU (3) set up minimum requirements for data to be entered in the national electronic register of road transport undertakings. In order to facilitate the interconnection of national registers also as regards data relating to vehicles hired without drivers, additional data relating to vehicles hired without drivers should be included in the national electronic registers. |
HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

The minimum requirements for the data relating to vehicles hired without a driver to be entered in the national electronic registers shall be the following:
