COUNCIL DECISION (CFSP) 2025/1439

of 15 July 2025

amending Council Decision (CFSP) 2022/2319 concerning restrictive measures in view of the situation in Haiti

THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION,

Having regard to the Treaty on European Union, and in particular Article 29 thereof,

Having regard to the proposal from the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy,

Whereas:

(1)

On 25 November 2022, the Council adopted Decision (CFSP) 2022/2319 (1).

(2)

On 28 July 2023, in light of the further deteriorating political, economic, humanitarian and security situation in Haiti, the Council adopted Decision (CFSP) 2023/1574 (2), which amended Decision (CFSP) 2022/2319 and established a new framework of additional restrictive measures.

(3)

On the basis of a review of the measures referred to in Article 2a(1) and Article 3a(1) and (2) of Decision (CFSP) 2022/2319, and in view of the gravity of the situation in Haiti, those measures should be renewed until 29 July 2026.

(4)

Decision (CFSP) 2022/2319 should therefore be amended accordingly,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

In Article 8(2) of Decision (CFSP) 2022/2319, the date ‘29 July 2025’ is replaced by that of ‘29 July 2026’.

Article 2

This Decision shall enter into force on the day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
