COUNCIL DECISION (CFSP) 2024/460

of 2 February 2024

amending Decision 2011/101/CFSP concerning restrictive measures in view of the situation in Zimbabwe

THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION,

Having regard to the Treaty on European Union, and in particular Article 29 thereof,

Having regard to the proposal from the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy,

Whereas:

(1)

On 15 February 2011, the Council adopted Decision 2011/101/CFSP (1), which concerns restrictive measures in view of the situation in Zimbabwe.

(2)

On the basis of a review of Decision 2011/101/CFSP, the restrictive measures set out therein should be renewed until 20 February 2025. The Council should continue to keep those restrictive measures under constant review in the light of political and security developments in Zimbabwe.

(3)

Decision 2011/101/CFSP should therefore be amended accordingly,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

In Article 10 of Decision 2011/101/CFSP, paragraph 2 is replaced by the following:

‘2.   This Decision shall apply until 20 February 2025.’.

Article 2

This Decision shall enter into force on the day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
