DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 187/2021
of 30 June 2021
amending Annex V (Free movement of workers) and Annex VIII (Right of establishment) to the EEA Agreement [2024/180]
THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,
Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98 thereof,
Whereas:

Regulation (EU) 2021/953 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 June 2021 on a framework for the issuance, verification and acceptance of interoperable COVID-19 vaccination, test and recovery certificates (EU Digital COVID Certificate) to facilitate free movement during the COVID-19 pandemic (1) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement. |

Annexes V and VIII to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly, |
HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:
Article 1
The following point is inserted after point 9f (Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2018/1021) of Annex V to the EEA Agreement:

32021 R 0953: Regulation (EU) 2021/953 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 June 2021 on a framework for the issuance, verification and acceptance of interoperable COVID-19 vaccination, test and recovery certificates (EU Digital COVID Certificate) to facilitate free movement during the COVID-19 pandemic (OJ L 211, 15.6.2021, p. 1).’ |
Article 2
The following point is inserted after point 10 of Annex VIII to the EEA Agreement:

32021 R 0953: Regulation (EU) 2021/953 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 June 2021 on a framework for the issuance, verification and acceptance of interoperable COVID-19 vaccination, test and recovery certificates (EU Digital COVID Certificate) to facilitate free movement during the COVID-19 pandemic (OJ L 211, 15.6.2021, p. 1).’ |
Article 3
The text of Regulation (EU) 2021/953 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, shall be authentic.
Article 4
This Decision shall enter into force on 30 June 2021, or on the day following the last notification under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement (*1), whichever is the later.
Article 5
This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.
