Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 57/2002 of 31 May 2002 amending Annex XVIII (Health and safety at work, labour law and equal treatment for men and women) to the EEA Agreement THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE, Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, as amended by the Protocol adjusting the Agreement on the European Economic Area, hereinafter referred to as "the Agreement", and in particular Article 98 thereof, Whereas: (1) Annex XVIII to the Agreement was amended by Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 39/2002 of 19 April 2002(1). (2) The communication from the Commission (COM(2000) 466 final, as corrected by COM(2000) 466 final/2) on the guidelines on the assessment of the chemical, physical and biological agents and industrial processes considered hazardous for the safety or health of pregnant workers and workers who have recently given birth or are breastfeeding (Council Directive 92/85/EEC), is to be incorporated into the Agreement, HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS: Article 1 The following shall be inserted after point 16j (Commission Directive 2000/39/EC) in Annex XVIII to the Agreement: "ACTS OF WHICH THE CONTRACTING PARTIES SHALL TAKE NOTE 16k. 52000 DC 0466: Communication from the Commission (COM(2000) 466 final, as corrected by COM(2000) 466 final/2) on the Guidelines on the assessment of the chemical, physical and biological agents and industrial processes considered hazardous for the safety or health of pregnant workers and workers who have recently given birth or are breastfeeding (Council Directive 92/85/EEC)." Article 2 The texts of Communication COM(2000) 466 final, as corrected by COM(2000) 466 final/2, in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Communities, shall be authentic. Article 3 This Decision shall enter into force on 1 June 2002, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the Agreement have been made to the EEA Joint Committee(2). Article 4 This Decision shall be published in the EEA section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Communities. Done at Brussels, 31 May 2002.
