    Description of the modification:

This is a change in the name of the traditional term, replacing ‘Vino de calidad con indicación geográfica’ with ‘Vino de calidad de’.

This is not a new traditional term, as the conditions of use/definition and the categories of products to which it applies remain the same, the only slight change is in its name: ‘Vino de calidad’ remains the same while ‘con indicación geográfica’ is replaced by ‘de’.

The traditional term ‘Vino de calidad con indicación geográfica’ was governed in Spain through Law No 24/2003 of 10 July 2003, on Vines and Wine (https://www.boe.es/boe/dias/2003/07/11/pdfs/A27165-27179.pdf). It was covered by Article 21 of the same law. However, this law has been replaced in this respect by the law currently in force, Law No 6/2015 of 12 May 2015, on protected designations of origin and geographical indications at supra-Autonomous-Community level which, in its Third Additional Provision, gave a new name to this traditional term, replacing ‘Vino de calidad con indicación geográfica’ for ‘Vino de calidad de’ (https://www.boe.es/buscar/pdf/2015/BOE-A- 2015-5288-consolidado.pdf).

Explanation of the grounds for the modification

According to the EU legislation, Article 27(1)(d) of Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/33, all traditional terms have to be ‘defined and regulated in the Member State’s legislation’. Given that this traditional term has been expressed under a different name since 2015, that is the name under which it must appear in the EU register.
