Since the Committee endorses the contents of the proposal and has already set out its views on the subject of the digital euro in its other opinion ‘A digital euro and the scope and effects of the legal tender status of banknotes and coins’ (1), to be adopted at the same plenary session in September 2023, it decided to issue an opinion endorsing the proposed text and to refer to the position it had taken in the above-mentioned document.
