The structural reform support programme (SRSP) seeks to meet its objectives by providing support to national authorities for reforming and strengthening institutions, governance, public administration and economic and social sectors. The SRSP aims to enhance:
This support is provided in particular in the context of the EU economic governance processes, including through the assistance for the efficient, effective and transparent use of European Structural and Investment Funds.
The support for growth-sustaining reforms can be provided at the request of Member States in a wide range of policy areas, as described below.
Amending Regulation (EU) 2018/1671 increased the financial envelope dedicated to the programme by €80 million, reaching a total of €222.8 million.
The EU’s Technical Support Instrument, established under Regulation (EU) 2021/240 (see summary), builds upon the SRSP’s experience and runs from 2021 to 2027.
