Full text search

Enter the terms you want to search for in the boxes. You can combine several terms by using the four boxes.

  • Search: enter the terms you want to search for in the text.
  • Or: find documents containing at least one of the terms in the first three boxes.
  • With: find documents containing at least one of the terms in the first three boxes and the words in the fourth box.

Tips:

  • Terms should be written in Spanish, with or without accents, in small or capital letters.
  • You can place an '*' at the end of a term to replace one or more characters. This allows you to search for words derived from the same source. For example, comuni* will search for the terms 'comunidad', 'comunicado', 'comunicación', etc.
Search for words in the title

Enter words found in the document title.

Only documents with titles containing the exact expression or words entered will be displayed. All the terms entered in this box will be searched, if they appear in the same order in which they were entered.

Type of document

Document type refers to the type of instrument: law, royal decree, order, resolution, report, agreement, etc.

Tips:

  • The type of instrument should be written in full, in Castilian Spanish (no abbreviations).
Document number

This is the number that identifies the legal instrument. Only the most important instruments - laws, royal decrees, orders - are numbered. In Spain, the most relevant instruments are numbered from 1 at the beginning of each year and continuing in ascending order until the end of the year. The number is therefore always accompanied by the year. e.g.: Law 2/2007.

Tips:

  • You can combine the information in this field with the 'Document Type' to refine the search and avoid unnecessary noise from the fact that different types of instrument can have the same official or document number.
Document date

This is the date of signature or promulgation, not the date of publication in the official journal.

Enter at least the year (4 digits) for the beginning of the period - to restrict results include the month and the day (2 digits).

For example:

  • The whole year 2007: Just enter 2007 in the year box for the beginning of the period.
  • March 2003: enter 2003 in the year box for the beginning of the period, then 03 (you must include the 0) in the month box immediately following.
  • 5 March 2003 only: enter 2003 in the year box for the beginning of the period, 03 in the month box and 05 in the day box.
Official Journal number

The number of the journal in which the instrument was published. In Spain, the journals are numbered from 1 at the beginning of each year and continue in ascending order until the end of the year. The number is therefore always accompanied by the year. e.g.: 56/2007.

Publication date

The date on which the Official Journal was published.
