Practical tips

Examples of values available for Austrian legislation (non-exhaustive list)
This is the date on which the document was signed, not its date of publication. To search the RIS site, you are obliged to enter a complete date.
NB: We advise against using this field when searching for Austrian legislation (RIS), as it seems to be too restrictive and is liable to produce zero responses from the site.
Restricts the search to all documents containing the numbering concerned. You receive the full text of the document and have to search manually for the section you want.

Use this field to distinguish between the various publication sources by name.
You can add the collection (I = laws, II = regulations, III = international treaties) or put this information into the document number.
NB: The collection can be in the ‘Name’ field or the ‘Number’ field, but not in both at once.

Use this field to enter an Official Journal number. This number must contain the year preceded by the issue number and, where appropriate, the collection (I = laws, II = regulations, III = international treaties).
NB: The collection can be in the ‘Name’ field or the ‘Number’ field, but not in both at once.

This means that you are looking for documents that are in force on the date entered.
You are obliged to enter a complete date. By default the date is set as the day the search is carried out, i.e. you are looking only for documents still in force.
