A common gateway to National Law
The Slovak presidency begins on 1 July 2016. Its priorities are driven by three interconnected principles of achieving tangible results, overcoming fragmentation and focusing on the citizen.
During the next 6 months, the presidency will focus on four key areas:
Slovakia will hold the Council presidency until 31 December 2016 and will be followed by Malta.
On 8-9 July, Poland will host the NATO summit meeting. European Council President, Donald Tusk, European Commission President, Jean-Claude Juncker, and High Representative Federica Mogherini will represent the European Union at the summit.
Report by President Donald Tusk to the European Parliament on the European Council of 28 June and the informal meeting of 27 EU leaders on 29 June 2016.
