***** AGREEMENT in the form of an exchange of letters suspending the application of Article 12 (1) of the Agreement between the European Economic Community and the Polish People's Republic on trade and commercial and economic cooperation Letter No 1 Sir, In discussions which took place between representatives of the European Economic Community and the Polish People's Republic after the signature of the Agreement on trade and commercial and economic cooperation, it was agreed that the obligations of each party contained in Article 12 (1) to accord the agricultural trade concessions referred to in Annexes IV and V to the Agreement as from 1 January 1990 should be suspended in view of the fact that the Community has autonomously granted to the Polish People's Republic wider concessions within the framework of its Generalized System of Preferences in accordance with Regulations (EEC) No 3898/89 and (EEC) No 3899/89. This suspension shall apply from 1 January 1990 and continue throughout the period of application of the said Regulations and of any Regulation which might be substituted for one or both of them.
