applying provisionally the Agreement between the European Economic Community and the Government of the Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Principe on fishing off São Tomé and Principe

A. Letter from the Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Principe

Sir,

With reference to the Fisheries Agreement we have today initialled, I have the honour to confirm that we have agreed it shall be applied provisionally as from this day, it being understood that:

(a) the contribution referred to in Article 6 of the Agreement shall take account of the quantities of tuna caught from this day onwards;

(b) the shipowners shall pay the sum stipulated in the Annex to the Agreement in respect of these same quantities.

I should be obliged if you would acknowledge receipt of this letter.

Please accept, Sir, the assurance of my highest consideration.

B. Letter from the Community

Sir,

I have the honour to acknowledge receipt of your letter of today's date, which reads as follows:

'With reference to the Fisheries Agreement we have today initialled, I have the honour to confirm that we have agreed it shall be applied provisionally as from this day, it being understood that:

(a) the contribution referred to in Article 6 of the Agreement shall take account of the quantities of tuna caught from this day onwards;

(b) the shipowners shall pay the sum stipulated in the Annex to the Agreement in respect of these same quantities.
