For the benefit of jobseekers, workers and employers, EURES promotes:

the development of a European Union (EU) labour market open and accessible for all;

the placement at the transnational, interregional and cross-border level through the exchange of vacancies and applications for employment;

information exchange on job opportunities, acquisition of skills and on traineeships, apprenticeships and, where appropriate, on placement of trainees and apprentices;

The joint resources of the EURES member and partner organisations provide a solid basis to offer high quality services for both workers and employers.

The EURES members and partners are:

national and local employment services;

employment services responsible for the cross-border regions;

other specialised employment services notified to the Commission;

social partners’ organisations designated by the members;

other organisations of social and related interests.

Activities

creation of placement services for jobseekers, matching services for workers and employers, and support services for employers wishing to recruit staff in another EU country with the help of EURES Internet services;

diffusion of up-to-date information on living and working conditions and trends on the labour market;

cooperation actions between members and partners;

surveillance and evaluation of obstacles to mobility, including differences in legislation and administrative procedures.

To help find job opportunities in other EU countries, a EURES job vacancy database is updated daily and available on the EURES portal in the 26 languages of the EU/EEA.
