DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE

amending Annex XX (Environment) to the EEA Agreement [2017/1072]

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (‘the EEA Agreement’), and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1)

Commission Decision (EU) 2015/877 of 4 June 2015 amending Decisions 2009/568/EC, 2011/333/EU, 2011/381/EU, 2012/448/EU and 2012/481/EU in order to prolong the validity of the ecological criteria for the award of the EU Ecolabel to certain products (1) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(2)

Commission Decision (EU) 2015/886 of 8 June 2015 amending Decision 2014/312/EU establishing the ecological criteria for the award of the EU Ecolabel for indoor and outdoor paints and varnishes (2) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(3)

Annex XX to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

Annex XX to the EEA Agreement is amended as follows:

1.

The following indent is added in points 2i (Commission Decision 2009/568/EC) and 2zf (Commission Decision 2012/481/EU):

‘—

32015 D 0877: Commission Decision (EU) 2015/877 of 4 June 2015 (OJ L 142, 6.6.2015, p. 32).’

2.

The following is added in points 2u (Commission Decision 2011/381/EU), 2x (Commission Decision 2011/333/EU) and 2ze (Commission Decision 2012/448/EU):

‘, as amended by:

32015 D 0877: Commission Decision (EU) 2015/877 of 4 June 2015 (OJ L 142, 6.6.2015, p. 32).’

The following is added in point 2v (Commission Decision 2014/312/EU):

‘, as amended by:

32015 D 0886: Commission Decision (EU) 2015/886 of 8 June 2015 (OJ L 144, 10.6.2015, p. 12).’

Article 2

The texts of Decisions (EU) 2015/877 and (EU) 2015/886 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 1 November 2015, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made (*1).

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.
