Verification of purity criteria for certain additives
1) OBJECTIVE
To lay down Community methods of analysis for verifying that certain additives used in foodstuffs satisfy purity criteria.
2) ACT
First Commission Directive 81/712/EEC of 28 July 1981 laying down Community methods of analysis for verifying that certain additives used in foodstuffs satisfy purity criteria [Official Journal L 257 of 10.09.1981].
3) SUMMARY
This Directive establishes the analytical methods necessary to verify the general or specific purity criteria for certain additives used in foodstuffs: colouring matters, preservatives and antioxidants.
Annex I specifies the area of application and Annex II specifies the methods of analysis to be used.
