Maximum aid intensity: The aid provides for setting up a five-year programme for a total sum of EUR 400 000 with the following intensity:

Duration of scheme or individual aid award:

Objective of aid: To support SMEs by financing the setting up of producer groups or associations thereof (PO), so as to concentrate supply and match production to market requirements, and of consortia to protect PDO/PGI/CDO/GCDO products which are responsible for supervising the use of designations of origin and quality brands.

Article 9 ‘Aid to producer organisations’ of Regulation (EC) No 1857/2006 provides the legal basis.

Eligible costs comprise:

the rental of suitable premises (in the event of purchase of premises, eligible costs are limited to the rental costs at market prices),

acquisition of office equipment including computer hardware and software,

administrative staff costs,

overheads and legal and administrative fees

Sector(s) concerned: Producer associations of all sectors with the exception of those for fruit and vegetables and peaches (a different exemption regime will be applied to producer groups for peaches) while for protection consortia, all sectors are covered

Maximum aid intensity:

Investment in agricultural holdings for primary production: — up to 50 % of eligible costs in less-favoured areas, — up to 40 % of eligible costs in other areas. The purpose of the aid is investment to renovate and upgrade farm buildings, to purchase equipment to be used for agricultural production, to invest in permanent crops and to upgrade pastures.

Aid towards the payment of insurance premiums: — the amount of municipal co-financing is the difference between the amount of co-financing of insurance premiums from the national budget and the subsidy limit (up to 50 %) applying to the eligible costs of insurance premiums for crops, fruit and cases of disease among animals.

3.	Aid for land reparcelling: — up to 100 % of eligible legal and administrative costs.

Provision of technical support in the agricultural sector: — up to 100 % of eligible costs for education of farmers and farm workers, consultancy services provided by third parties, the organisation of forums for the exchange of knowledge, competitions, exhibitions and fairs, and publications, such as catalogues and websites. The aid is to be granted in the form of subsidised services and must not involve direct payments of money to producers
