Request from a contracting entity

On 10 September 2009 the Commission received a request pursuant to Article 30(5) of Directive 2004/17/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 31 March 2004 coordinating the procurement procedures of entities operating in the water, energy, transport and postal services sectors (1).
The request, from Österreichische Post AG, concerns postal services and other services (see Article 6(2)(b) and (c) of Directive 2004/17/EC) in Austria. The request was published in OJ C 226, 19.9.2009, p. 26. The initial deadline was 11 December 2009.
In accordance with the second sentence of Article 30(6), since the Commission needs to obtain and examine additional information, the period within which the Commission must take a decision on this request has been extended by three months.
The final deadline is therefore 11 March 2010.
