Objective of the aid: Transparent aid to agricultural SMEs engaged in primary production, for carrying out investment projects in tangible fixed assets, to be implemented after the decision to grant the funding is taken.

Eligible expenditure: (net of VAT): to carry out building works, to purchase and improve buildings, and to purchase, modernise and restructure machinery, equipment and facilities.

Expenditure to purchase land other than that intended for building work may be eligible, provided that this expenditure does not exceed 10 % of the eligible investment expenditure.

Sector(s) concerned: The scheme applies to small and medium-sized enterprises engaged in primary production, excluding those cases referred to in Articles 1 and 4 of Regulation (EC) No 1857/2006.

Maximum aid intensity: The aid intensity is 100 % in line with Article 15 of Regulation (EC) No 1857/2006. The aid will not exceed EUR 400 000 in line with Article 5 of Regulation (EC) No 1857/2006.

Date of implementation: The scheme will start on 2nd June 2007

Duration of scheme or individual aid award: The scheme will begin on 2nd June 2007. It will close on 1 September 2009. The last payment will be made no later than 30 September 2009.

Objective of aid: A co-operative of producers pooling resources, co-ordinating outputs and adhering to quality landscape standards of production, will be a powerful tool for underpinning a fragile farming economy in an area often marginal to production but nevertheless rich in biodiversity and landscape features.

The aid will enable Purbeck Products Limited (PPL) to set itself up as a producer group and market its products according to a set of common rules. The aid will be used for:

development of whole farm plans,

computer hardware and software,

organisation of and participation in forums to share knowledge,

education and training of farmers and farm workers,

employment of an administrative assistant.

Annual expenditure planned under the scheme or overall amount of individual aid granted to the company: Depending on the budgetary provisions of the Finance Act. The planned expenditure for 2007 is HUF 1 000 million (HUF 500 million producers' contribution, HUF 500 million budget contribution). The sum is currently under revision. Due to the nature of natural disasters (spring frost, drought) the arising costs are not yet predictable, but are likely to reach HUF 5 000 million.

Maximum aid intensity: The value of the loss in yields, minus the compensation paid by insurance companies, minus the reduction in the costs of harvesting (the damage will lead to less crop, thus the cost of harvesting will be proportionately smaller).

The intensity of the aid may not exceed 80 %, or 90 % in less favoured areas.

Date of implementation: In the last quarter of every year concerned, once the extent of the damage has been calculated

Duration of scheme or individual aid award:

Objective of the aid: Partial compensation of losses due to adverse climatic events, to be paid to farmers whose losses exceed 30 % of the yield of the agricultural holding.

Article 11 — Aid for losses due to adverse climatic events. Compliance with paragraphs 8 and 9 of Article 11 must be reached by the prescribed deadline.
