Notification of the Designation of Diploma of General Medical Practitioners in accordance with Article 41 of Directive 93/16/EEC

Council Directive 93/16/EEC to facilitate the free movement of doctors and the mutual recognition of their diplomas, certificates and other evidence of formal qualifications and particularly Article 41 thereof provides that Member States shall notify the Commission of the measures it has taken in conformity with Article 30. The Commission shall publish an appropriate notice in the Official Journal of the European Union, indicating the designations adopted by that Member State for the diploma, certificate or other evidence of formal qualifications and, where appropriate, the professional title in question.

Luxembourg and Cyprus have notified amendments to the list of designations of diplomas, certificates or other evidence of formal qualifications in the Official Journal C 393/4 of 31 December 1996.

The list of designations of diplomas, certificates or other evidence of formal qualifications as a general medical practitioner published in accordance with Article 41 of Council Directive 93/16/EEC most recently amended by Annex II of the Act Concerning the Conditions of Accession of the Czech Republic, Estonia, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Malta, Poland, Slovenia and Slovakia and the Adjustments to the Treaties on which the European Union is Founded is hereby amended as follows:

the entry for Luxembourg under ‘Point 1. Designations of diplomas, certificates or other evidence of formal qualification’ should read:

‘Diplôme de formation spécifique en medicine générale’,

the entry for Cyprus under ‘Point 1. Designations of diplomas, certificates or other evidence of formal qualification’ should read:

‘Τίτλος Ειδικότητας Γενικής Ιατρικής’.
