THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION,

(3)

Annex IV to Regulation (EC) No 73/2009 establishes for each Member State the ceilings which may not be exceeded by the total amounts of the direct payments, net of modulation, which may be granted in respect of a calendar year in the Member State concerned.

(4)

Following the notifications of the Member States in accordance with Article 188a(3) of Regulation (EC) No 1234/2007 and the second subparagraph of Article 40(1) of Regulation (EC) No 73/2009, the total maximum amounts of direct payments that may be granted shall be increased. Therefore, in accordance with Article 8(2)(a) of Regulation (EC) No 73/2009, Annex IV to that Regulation shall be reviewed.

(5)

Annexes IV and VIII to Regulation (EC) No 73/2009 should therefore be amended accordingly.
