European health strategy

The aim of the strategy is to improve Europeans' health, deal with growing health problems and protect them from major risks, such pandemics and bioterrorism.

The strategy: • sets objectives and priorities for tackling the main health challenges • strengthens cooperation between EU countries in areas where it makes no sense for individual countries to work alone • helps spread useful knowledge and information • supports research and the use of new technologies for better disease prevention and safer treatments for patients.
