COUNCIL DECISION of 21 December 1988 on the conclusion of the Agreement in the form of an Exchange of Letters relating to Article 9 of Protocol 1 to the Agreement between the European Economic Community and the State of Israel and concerning the import into the Community of preserved fruit salads originating in Israel (88/648/EEC)

LE CONSEIL DES COMMUNAUTÉS EUROPÉENNES,

THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES,

vu le traité instituant la Communauté économique européenne, et notamment son article 113,

Having regard to the Treaty establishing the European Economic Community, and in particular Article 113 thereof,

vu la recommandation de la Commission,

Having regard to the recommendation from the Commission,

considérant que l'accord entre la Communauté économique européenne et l'État d'Israël(1 ) a été signé le 11 mai 1975 ;

Whereas the Agreement between the European Economic Community and the State of Israel(1) was signed on 11 May 1975;

considérant qu'il convient d'approuver l'accord sous forme d'échange de lettres relatif à l'article 9 du protocole no 1 de l'accord précité et concernant l'importation, dans la Communauté, de salades de fruits en conserves originaires d'Israël,

Whereas the Agreement in the form of an Exchange of Letters relating to Article 9 of Protocol 1 to the said Agreement and concerning the import into the Community of preserved fruit salads originating in Israel should be approved,

DÉCIDE :

HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS:

Article premier L'accord sous forme d'échange de lettres relatif à l'article 9 du protocole no 1 de l'accord entre la Commu - nauté économique européenne et l'État d'Israël et concernant l'importation, dans la Communauté, de salades de fruits en conserves originaires d'Israël est approuvé au nom de la Communauté .

Article 1 The Agreement in the form of an Exchange of Letters relating to Article 9 of Protocol 1 to the Agreement between the Euroepan Economic Community and the State of Israel and concerning the import into the Community of preserved fruit salads originating in Israel is hereby approved on behalf of the Community.

Le texte de l'accord est joint à la présente décision .

The text of the Agreement is attached to this Decision.

Article 2 Le président du Conseil est autorisé à désigner la personne habilitée à signer l'accord à l'effet d'engager la Commu - nauté .

Article 2 The President of the Council is hereby authorized to designate the person empowered to sign the Agreement in order to bind the Community.

Article 3 La présente décision prend effet le jour suivant celui de sa publication au Journal officiel des Communautés euro - péennes .

Article 3 This Decision shall take effect on the day following its publication in the Official Journal of the European Communities.
