THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION,

Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union,

Tendo em conta o Tratado sobre o Funcionamento da União Europeia,

Having regard to the Interinstitutional Agreement of 17 May 2006 between the European Parliament, the Council and the Commission on budgetary discipline and sound financial management [1], and in particular point 28 thereof,

Tendo em conta o Acordo Interinstitucional de 17 de Maio de 2006 entre o Parlamento Europeu, o Conselho e a Comissão sobre a disciplina orçamental e a boa gestão financeira [1], nomeadamente o ponto 28,

Having regard to Regulation (EC) No 1927/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 December 2006 establishing the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund [2], and in particular Article 8(2) thereof,

Tendo em conta o Regulamento (CE) n.o 1927/2006 do Parlamento Europeu e do Conselho, de 20 de Dezembro de 2006, que institui o Fundo Europeu de Ajustamento à Globalização [2], nomeadamente o artigo 8.o, n.o 2,

Having regard to the proposal from the European Commission,

Tendo em conta a proposta da Comissão Europeia,

Whereas:

Considerando o seguinte:

(1) The European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) was established to provide additional support to redundant workers made redundant as a result of major structural changes in world trade patterns due to globalisation and to assist them with their reintegration into the labour market.

(1) O Fundo Europeu de Ajustamento à Globalização (FEG) foi criado para prestar apoio complementar aos trabalhadores despedidos em resultado de importantes mudanças estruturais do padrões do comércio mundial decorrentes da globalização e para os apoiar na sua reintegração no mercado de trabalho.

(2) The scope of the EGF was broadened for applications submitted from 1 May 2009 to include support for workers made redundant as a direct result of the global financial and economic crisis.

(2) O âmbito de aplicação do FEG foi alargado a candidaturas apresentadas a partir de 1 de Maio de 2009, passando a incluir o apoio a trabalhadores despedidos em consequência directa da crise financeira e económica global.

(3) The Interinstitutional Agreement of 17 May 2006 allows the mobilisation of the EGF within the annual ceiling of EUR 500 million.

(3) O Acordo Interinstitucional de 17 de Maio de 2006 permite a mobilização do FEG até um limite máximo anual de 500 milhões de euros.

(4) Regulation (EC) No 1927/2006 provides that 0,35 % of the annual maximum amount can be made available each year for technical assistance at the initiative of the Commission. The Commission therefore proposes to mobilise an amount of EUR 610000.

(4) O Regulamento (CE) n.o 1927/2006 estabelece que 0,35 % do montante máximo anual do FEG pode ser disponibilizado anualmente para assistência técnica, por iniciativa da Comissão. A Comissão propõe, por isso, a mobilização do montante de 610000 EUR.

(5) The EGF should, therefore, be mobilised in order to provide technical assistance at the initiative of the Commission,

HAVE ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

ADOPTARAM A PRESENTE DECISÃO:

Article 1

Artigo 1.o

For the general budget of the European Union for the financial year 2011, the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund shall be mobilised to provide the sum of EUR 610000 in commitment and payment appropriations.

No quadro do orçamento geral da União Europeia para o exercício de 2011, é mobilizado o montante de 610000 EUR, em dotações de autorização e de pagamento, ao abrigo do Fundo Europeu de Ajustamento à Globalização.

Article 2

Artigo 2.o

This Decision shall be published in the Official Journal of the European Union.

A presente decisão é publicada no Jornal Oficial da União Europeia.
