THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION,

EUROPA-KOMMISSIONEN HAR —

Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union,

under henvisning til traktaten om Den Europæiske Unions funktionsmåde,

Having regard to Regulation (EC) No 1831/2003 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 September 2003 on additives for use in animal nutrition [1], and in particular Article 9(2) thereof,

under henvisning til Europa-Parlamentets og Rådets forordning (EF) nr. 1831/2003 af 22. september 2003 om fodertilsætningsstoffer [1], særlig artikel 9, stk. 2, og

Whereas:

ud fra følgende betragtninger:

(1) Commission Regulation (EC) No 721/2008 [2] authorises a preparation of red carotenoid-rich bacterium Paracoccus carotinifaciens as a feed additive for salmon and trout until 15 August 2018. That feed additive is classified in the category "sensory additives", functional group "a (ii). Colourants; substances which when fed to animals add colours to food of animal origin".

(1) Ved Kommissionens forordning (EF) nr. 721/2008 [2] tillades et præparat af bakterien Paracoccus carotinifaciens, der er rig på røde carotenoider, anvendt som tilsætningsstof til foder til laks og ørreder indtil den 15. august 2018. Det pågældende fodertilsætningsstof tilhører tilsætningsstofkategorien "sensoriske tilsætningsstoffer" og den funktionelle gruppe "a ii) farvestoffer; stoffer, der, når dyr fodres hermed, giver animalske fødevarer en farve".

(2) The Commission received an application requesting a modification of the conditions of the authorisation as regards the composition of the feed additive. That application was accompanied by the relevant supporting data. The Commission forwarded that application to the European Food Safety Authority (the Authority).

(2) Kommissionen har modtaget en ansøgning om at få ændret godkendelsesbetingelserne for så vidt angår fodertilsætningsstoffets sammensætning. Ansøgningen var ledsaget af relevant baggrundsdokumentation. Kommissionen sendte ansøgningen videre til Den Europæiske Fødevaresikkerhedsautoritet (EFSA).

(3) The Authority concluded in its opinion of January 2010 that the requested modification would not affect the safety and efficacy of the product [3].

(3) EFSA konkluderede i sin udtalelse af januar 2010, at den ønskede ændring ikke ville indvirke på produktets sikkerhed og effektivitet [3].

(4) The assessment of the modified preparation shows that it satisfies the conditions for authorisation, provided for in Article 5 of Regulation (EC) No 1831/2003.

(4) Vurderingen af det ændrede præparat viser, at betingelserne for godkendelse, jf. artikel 5 i forordning (EF) nr. 1831/2003, er opfyldt.

(5) Regulation (EC) No 721/2008 should therefore be amended accordingly.

(5) Forordning (EF) nr. 721/2008 bør derfor ændres i overensstemmelse hermed.

(6) The measures provided for in this Regulation are in accordance with the opinion of the Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health,

(6) Foranstaltningerne i denne forordning er i overensstemmelse med udtalelse fra Den Stående Komité for Fødevarekæden og Dyresundhed —

HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION:

VEDTAGET DENNE FORORDNING:

Article 1

Artikel 1

In the Annex to Regulation (EC) No 721/2008, in the third column, "Composition, chemical formula, description, analytical method",

I bilaget til forordning (EF) nr. 721/2008, tredje kolonne ("Sammensætning, kemisk betegnelse, beskrivelse, analysemetode"),

the words

ændres:

- "— 10-15 g/kg adonirubin

- "— 10-15 g/kg adonirubin

- — 3-5 g/kg canthaxanthin"

- — 3-5 g/kg canthaxanthin"

are replaced by the words

til:

- "— 7-15 g/kg adonirubin

- "— 7-15 g/kg adonirubin

- — 1-5 g/kg canthaxanthin".

- — 1-5 g/kg canthaxanthin".

Article 2

This Regulation shall enter into force on the 20th day following its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.

Denne forordning træder i kraft på tyvendedagen efter offentliggørelsen i Den Europæiske Unions Tidende.

This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States.

Denne forordning er bindende i alle enkeltheder og gælder umiddelbart i hver medlemsstat.
