Declaration by the Hellenic Republic in the meeting of the Joint Committee at Ministerial Level and in the Council (Justice and Home Affairs) on 2 and 3 December 1999 with regard to the proposed Council Decision on the application of the Schengen acquis in Greece

Taking into account the spirit of the Decision of the Executive Committee concerning the reciprocal secondment of liaison officers (SCH/COM-ex (1999) 7, rev 2), Greece will definitely invite competent officers from the Schengen partner countries to advise and assist for the years 2000 and 2001 in designated border police tasks on a proposal by the Schengen Evaluation Working Party, according to its mandate. The Schengen Evaluation Working Party will monitor this process.
